We have had a growing number of guys who've been roped in to shoots, tell us afterward that they wish they had known that: it isn't at all painful, slow or overly contrived. That in fact guys enjoy being looked after by a bunch of real professionals. And it’s not just all something girlie you have to suffer through.

So we have made notes on what's involved from a guy's perspective:

A 15-min consultation in the studio. It's there to talk you through the process, plan your shoot and answer all your questions. We also have large number of albums, slideshows and, of course, portraits on the wall to give you a really good understanding of the style and quality of our work.

Guys: This is a fact-finding trip, you can attend if you like but it’s only mandatory that one of you be there and you get the basic info.

"Before your shoot our professional makeup artist spends an hour with you, which includes makeup and hair styling...." etc.

You are more than welcome to bring a bottle of wine or bubbly with you should you wish (we’ve got the glasses!)

Guys: Your partner loves this bit but, don’t worry, we'll make her look great without going over the top - so you'll still recognize the girl.

And as for the hour it takes, you can happily skip this, as we normally recommend you don’t turn up until partway through the shoot!

Your responsibility is to turn up in good time for the makeover with a bag full of clothes, and that is where your responsibility ends, our photographers will do everything else for you. So don’t panic about not looking good - this is our responsibility. We promise that you'll not only look great you'll walk out buzzing.

Guys: You do need to bring along one or two changes of clothes, as having you turn up wearing a work outfit when she is all dressed up looking ready to party is not going to be a good look. Don’t worry, we almost always manage to drop in a good number of casual gems and tie-relaxed images into the mix.

If you want to be there for the whole shoot you need to allow a good hour. But if you're tight on time, we can do a lot with 15-20 minutes of your time as part of the shoot.

Approximately a week later, we'll make an appointment for you to came back for a viewing of your images. This is where we help you pick out the very best and decide upon the best ways to display them. We have several different presentation options for you to pick from - which we discuss with you in your consultation.

If you're in a hurry or come from out of town:

We do have a special service for out of towners where we can arrange for you to view your images the next day or the same day as your shoot.

Guys: We have a great piece of software, which we use in combination with a projector, to really give you a great look at the images to scale: cropped, framed... anything you like. You get to really play around with them, have a laugh, and see how it'll all look. Most guys love this part the best.

If you want an opportunity to have an opinion of what gets selected you need to be there as this is your only complimentary viewing of your images!

Following your viewing we spend time arting, printing and mounting your beautiful images ready for your collection. This typically takes 4-6 weeks - although we can often accommodate particular deadlines if you let us know in advance. We'll call you when they're ready so you can pop in and pick up the finished work.

Guys: It is often left for you to hang the images on the wall when they get home - which is not always as easy as you might think - particularly if you end up with a set of images designed to hang together on the wall.

Don’t stress! We have a handy little set of instructions for you if you want it - to make sure everything looks great. And if you need, we can arrange a professional hanging for you.
