At four to five years of age, young children make for amazing photos full of fun and character. Young enough to still be cute and willing to have their photos taken, and old enough to really show that personality that you've grown to know so well.

This is also a great time as they're less committed to school hours and more free to come in at a time that suits their own personal rhythm. Some of us are early birds and others find their energy after midday. Consider what's usually the best time to take them to visit a good friend, go on a play date or to visit an amusement park and that's probably the right time for portraits.

Preschool is a great time to bring them in and capture this fleeting moment in your lives before it all changes again. Catch them while you can!
